Summary: This has five of Frog and Toads adventures. In the first, Toad makes a list of things to do for that day. He gets down to "go on a walk with Frog" but on the walk, Toad's list blows away. Toad is distraught and says that now he must just sit because he doesn't have his list. So Frog sits down with him and eventually Toad remembers that go to sleep was last on his list so they go to sleep right where they are. The second story is, Toad likes Frog's garden so Frog gives him some seeds to plant at his own house. Toad discovers that it is hard work to grow a garden. In the next story, Toad bakes some cookies that are so good they can't stop eating them. They try to hide them so they can have will power to not eat the cookies but they decide they could still get at them. So Frog takes the cookies out and throws them to the birds. Then they realize they have a lot of will power but no cookies so Toad says he's going to go home and bake a cake. In the fourth story Frog and Toad read a story about brave people who fight dragons and giants. They go on a walk to find out if they are brave. They escape from a snake, a rock avalanche and a hawk and run back home. Once they're home they hide and decide that they really are brave. The last story is about a dream that Toad has where he is performing on a stage and he is good at everything. Frog is the only one in his audience and with every prideful comment Toad makes about his performance, Frog gets smaller and smaller until he is gone. Toad wakes up to Frog standing by his bed and is happy his friend is still there.
Who would you recommend this book to? I would recommend this book to young children who are learning the ropes on being a good friend.
Potential problems or conflicts: I don't see any potential problems or conflicts with this book.
My reaction: For me, the story was a little boring but it had some really good messages about friendship. I think it's a book that would be really good for young children though. I think that it's a good book for teaching children how to be good friends. Over all, I think the book was good simply because it teaches good messages.
